Snips & Snails

Snips and Snails, Sugar and spice
Author: unknown
Snips and snails,
And puppy dog tails,
That's what little boys are made of.

Sugar and spice,
And all things nice,
That's what little girls are made of.

It has been and continues to be an experience to raise three boys and only boys. I am the only female among four men. It used to bother me, but I've grown used to it and wouldn't trade it for the world. For you see, I am the ONLY female in their life. Or at least for right now. So I must say that I have a special relationship with my young men. We have had some special times and funny times growing up. With a boy there is always a story. I'm thankful for my guys. They are each unique in their personality and their relationship with me. The poems on this page fits perfectly for boys. It is said that there is a special place in heaven for the Mother of three boys!

A Boy Is...
Author: Unknown
Trust with dirt on his face,
Beauty with a cut on his finger,
Wisdom with bubble gum in his hair,
And the hope of the future
With a frog in his pocket.

God Loves Little Boys
Author: Unknown
God loves little boys and all that they do
Exploring and laughing and roughhousing, too.

God loves their energy, eagerness and wit.
He loves their serious side and their fanciful spirit.

He guides them and tends them while they grow,
Giving them all of the grace he can bestow.

God's plan for his boys is wondrous as well,
Because soon in their place little men will dwell.

Little boys are Treasures
Author: Unknown
Little boys are treasures
Who are worth their weight in gold.
And charm everyone around them
From the time they're minutes old.

They're Mommy's little darling,
They're a special pal to Dad,
And they bring the very happiest days
A family's ever had.

What is a Boy?
Author: Unknown
He's an imp and an angel,
a dreamer, a tease
An explorer of meadows, and
a climber of trees.
A runner of errands, and
doer of chores.
Who tears his best trousers, and
tracks up your floors.
He's a solemn young man with
some mud on his feet,
And a daredevil riding his
bike down the street.
A bundle of questions, who
wants to know "why",
The world goes around and
the stars fill the sky.
But adventurous, timid, excited
or quiet,
There's nothing so new that he
won't care to try it.
And just when your temper and
patience wear thin,
He'll look up at you with an
innocent grin.
And your heart melts again with
your real pride and joy,
In that mischievous, wonderful
treasure--- your boy!!
