I've always loved opening the windows to my home to allow fresh air indoors. I love to have the windows open at night and see the curtains gently blow when the breeze comes inside. As a child, my Mother would turn on the attic fans at night and the curtains would just blow inward, dancing in the breeze.

When my boys were small I would sit outside my kitchen window in my swing while they napped, and I would put music on in the window. I've also always tried to place a chair or two near a window inside my home so we could have a view of outdoors. I like Window watching. I like a pretty scene outside my kitchen window. Something to gaze at while you wash dishes.

The windows to our homes are to allow sunlight and fresh air in. They are a view to the outside. They can brighten our days. We place importance on them or why would we dress them up with pretty curtains or place pretty things in the sills? Isn't it odd that cats can find a window sill to lay in and looks outdoors? Then there was the country look with crafts made from real old windows to hang on our walls.

When I've traveled, on highways, it's interesting to pass by the homes and catch a glimpse of the family inside. If it's dark, the lights are on, and you wonder what that family is doing, what they are watching on television, or are they gathered around for supper? What do people see when they pass our windows or look in? Our eyes are supposedly said to be windows to our souls, so what do others see when they look into our eyes? Do we need to open our windows and allow fresh clean air inside our souls?
