In My Attic are several old photographs. I have always
loved photographs. I have all the photos of my Dad when he was in the
navy. All his childhood photographs and my Mother's. I have several
photographs of my ancestors too that are dated in the 1800's. My
photographs are special to me. I believe they each tell a story.

My Mother's Wedding Gown. Mom kept her simple white wedding gown. She kept
all the years of her life. I was not able to wear it, but just having it
means so much to me.
Quilts. I have quilts of my Mother's and one from my Grandmother that was
passed down to my Mother, which is now mine. I just love quilts. Brings
back memories of the cold winter nights and the warmth they provided.

Cedar Chest. Mom had this cedar chest all my life. She always kept the
"special things" in it. Each year I would help her go through it and clean
it out and we look over each item and she would tell me a story. Now it
holds my Mother's gown, baby clothes, and my wedding bouquet.
Dad's Rug. My Dad was in the Navy and traveled all over the world. He
bought a rug made in Egypt and they kept it all these years in the cedar
chest. It is a gorgeous rug, with such detail.
My Childhood Memories. I collected "love is" clippings from the Sunday
Newspaper growing up. I have kept them all these years. I have Trixie
Beldon and Nancy Drew Mystery Books. I have little dolls I had as a child.
I have a purse given to me my senior year in school from a 90 year old
lady from our church. I have jewelry boxes and birthday toppers as well. I
have a flannel strawberry gown that my Grandmother gave me and an apron
also that she hand sewn. I also have a wooden sword that my Great Uncle
Joe carved for me and a fork & spoon set. I just can't bear to part with
some memories.

My Boy's Baby things. I have my boy's school memory books. I kept an
outfit from each boy that I brought them home in and also took their first
photo in. I kept favorite shoes and baby books and other favorite blankets
and gifts.
Grandmother's Sweater. Mother bought my Grandmother a sweater for one of
her last birthdays, so she would have one for Church and Town. Mother kept
it after Grandmother passed away, for all these years. So now that Mother
is gone, it is mine and I will pass it down to my children some day. It's
just a sweater to some, but to me it is a memory.
