Smiling Faces

In the course of this life
I have traveled many miles
And seen many places
Many more faces

I must admit
This world is full of shining faces
And gorgeous places
That are waiting to be discovered
Sometimes I long for the days of my youth
To be set free again from the racial disparities
To let the differences
Settle through my innocence again

I must admit
This world is full of shining faces
And gorgeous places
Just waiting to be discovered

But now that I am older
Everywhere i go
It's Black vs. White
And the world is in a state of confusion

I wonder why we can't just smile at each other
And set our hides aside
Sit down and reflect
As to why it took so long
To find a smiling face...
