victory's tome
Where
were you when the first bombs fell
Whom
did you hold in your gaze
Did
you see those buildings topple
Did
you stand shocked and amazed
Do
you believe our fight is just
Do
you think the cause is true
Who
are we truly fighting for
What
are we willing to do
Men
are faceless who fight the fight
The
still sound of lives once saved
All
of our wars ebb and flow
Still
lives retreats behind the waves
Would
you know the face of a threat
If
he were to shake your hand
Are
we now meant to genuflect
To
the gods that rules our land
The
voices that chides us for speaking
Lets
derision guide us hence
They
stand on their bully-pulpits
Foreswearing
words of dissidence
We
fight a faceless evil force
Whose
façade is all to clear
A
name attached bears no true worth
Lest
the man belay the fear
Above
the seas and foreign lands
Above
the proud countrymen
Victory
glides on gilded wings
As
she does now, so did she then
The
cry is war that now resounds
Through
the streets and hearts of home
Victory
looms like an eagle
And
to Her this is my tome
