fate’s highway

Two paths are set behind you,

The one you choose will define you.

For if you choose this one my friend,

I fear for you it is the end.

But if you choose the other one,

What will happen when it’s done?

Will you look back with regret,

Or will you see the light and just forget?

Once you travel down that path,

There is no way, no turning back.

It winds along without an ending,

Your consciousness and sanity bending.

As you come to a fork in the road,

Another choice adds burden to your load.

Was it the right choice in the first place,

To take this way, in any case…

Which way shall you go now,

You take the other, what now?

It winds and winds, no end you see,

You have no notion of what is to be.

For when sanity and reason guide you,

You will find that you are being lied to.

And you will find that life has no room for either,

And you shall be a friend to neither,

For you can only walk the path of life one time,

And by now, I hope you have your path in mind…
