Poetry

The darksome statesman, hung with weights and woe, Like a thick midnight-fog, moved there so slow, He did not stay, nor go.Henry Vaughan, The World

A single tear I shed away, relinquished, fears and dread to stay, One secret, full of struggle and spite, I wish to bury, far by night, one light I see, far away, a place of glee, a place to stay, Far from my reach, almost out of sight, I struggle through pain, terror, and strife, What do I gain? in the end, I gain a chance, to try again

A mysterious place, I chance to see, hidden deep, away from me, what must be done, lift the shroud, lost forever, deep in cloud, please relenquish, joy and glee, hidden deep, away from me.

Deep in forest, hill and glade, evil waits, armed, a cold steel blade, travelers pass, one by one, evil waits, he'll have his fun, a lady approaches, a maiden drawn neigh, diverted her gaze, observing the sky, evil draws closer, a shadow on grass, a chill, feels the lady, hopes it will pass, a breeze stirs, the horse stomps her feet, the lady sees evil, silent and sleek, evil strikes, a primale scream, no one hears, cept tree and stream, deep in forest, hill and glade, evil waits, armed, a cold steel blade.

Riddles

My first is in blood, and also in battle. Second, acorn oak and apple. My third and fourth are both the same, in the center of sorrow, and twice in refrain. My fifth starts eternity, ending here. And my last is the first of last, what am I?

direct quote from story"of course our hero thought nothing of this and went back to his booze."
