Feelings

We both know how it feels
To want someone you can't have
It hurts to be around you
Even when you make me laugh

I see the way you look at her
Your face lights up with glee
It hurts me even more
'Cause that's not the way you look at me

I try to put on a straight face
And play along with the games
Still my heart stops soaring
And crashes and burns to flames

I could try to ignore how I feel
And push it to the side
But in the end they're still there
No matter how much I try to run and hide

I wish this was all a bad dream
That, in the morning, will just go away
But I have to learn to deal
And stop thinking I'll have you someday
