A Superior Plan

There once was a man who did nothing more
Than make plans behind the next open door.
They never materialized beyond a dream
Because he did nothing but connive and scheme.

He was all for himself and never could hit
on any idea that was really it
But wasted away while his idle mind played
With foolish schemes that never paid.

Then He met a kind fellow who said:
You're headed a sure way to wind up dead,
And once you have achieved that goal
Eternity in Hell awaits your Soul

So He listened while kind fellow again said:
There's a possibility of Eternal life ahead.
If you acknowledge you are sinful within
And Jesus, God's Son, paid your price for Sin.

For God took your sin and your life so dim,
And sent Jesus to die, He placed it on Him.
On a cruel Cross Jesus paid the Cost
In order to save your life that was lost.

The Sinner said: "Jesus, please help me pray
And turn my life over to you today.
Be my Savior, I accept you now,
And on my knees I humbly bow.

Such love and forgiveness I don't deserve,
but I give my life, from now on to serve
From this day forward till my life is through,
I want to live each day for you."
