Red Light
When everything seems hopeless
When every street light turns from green
You’re stuck not moving anywhere
And you’re stuck breathing this polluted air
Your life has taken a back road
Open to anywhere without a care
And full of forks and dead ends
You back track as your life repeats
And you get to this red light
You’ve been here before
Not moving anywhere
These polluted skis
Make you want to die
The poisons fill your lungs
Chocking off your last breaths
Amongst the pain of death
A patch of sky opens to blue
A butterfly flutters by
Your streetlight changes for you
No longer a dead end
No forks around the bend
The smog begins to clear
The air becomes to pure
With the long and winding roads
The blacktop becomes flat and even
The world around flies on by
No conflict can be seen
Life becomes boring
You want to take another path
But all around you is rolling hills and grass
And atop this next hill we meet
An intersection for another street
The lights are red both ways
How can you go on?
