Lying Awake

Lying awake
Staring at the clock
Waiting for the alarm to go off
But not for another two hours
Broken hearts
Broken minds
Broken people
Torn apart
Ripped to shreds from an empty heart
Lying awake
The curtains blow in the wind from the open window
Ghosts fill the room with evil shadows
April winds move the shadows
Giving life
And still dead
Reincarnation?
Glassy eyes stare at the clock
Has time stopped?
It feels this way
Its still two o’clock
Time is broken
Can time heal all wounds?
Clocks don’t move
Can’t give or take
Can it be?
It’s truly over
No more good thoughts
Suicide now plays in my head
It’s not liked
In this hard world
Is it now the end?
Is it over?
Lying awake
Time seems to be moving
The sun now rises
Five in the morning?
For I don’t know
For I don’t care
I get up
Go to work
School comes first
This day now starts again
To be put on repeat
Things are what they seem
Yesterday
Today
And every other day
The same
Same challenges
Just passed on from person to person
