Sometimes I wonder if you’re watching
When I am up to something bad
And I wonder if you’d forgive me
Me being the only son you had

Sometimes I wonder if you love me
Through all the ugly things I do
Because, despite my faults and failings,
I still love you

 There beside the pearly gate 
 With your handsome smile and your Camel straight
 Burning in your fingers

We made a good team, didn’t we
Winding around those mountain roads
Dodging traffic light and weigh scales
Hauling those wide loads

And you, you always acted proud of me
When everything I did was wrong
I wish that I had half your courage
Wish I was half as strong

I wish my children could have know you
Not just the flowers on your grave
Wish I could trade you for your legend
You would have blown them away
