My Storms

Clouds take over,
The face turns blank,
No more sky, no more beauty,
Just the storm,
The rain pours down,
The lightning shakes my body,
I hate the rain, the reasons,
There is only loneliness, just me,
Nothing else matters,
It can't change anything,
The rain is there,
And the lightning,
The lightning is the worst,
It reminds me nothing has changed,
I can't stop the rain,
Only let it pour,
It shoots through my body,
Leaving me helpless to the rain,
No one is here to help me,
No one to wipe my eyes,
The rain just keeps falling,
And the lightning never fails to strike,
Thunder always follows,
I wish I could keep quiet,
But the thunder just wants to shout,
The thunder is my gasping,
Because the lightning has struck again,
I wish the rain would stop,
But the thoughts, the pain, keep coming,
The rain, the tears, the crying, the fears,
I am all alone,
Except for one or two,
But they are too busy,
Or too far away,
I just want comfort,
But the rain keeps coming,
Even when they try,
The problems and the pain are always there,
Just sometimes they are hidden,
Buried deep inside,
The storm wants to come, needs to come,
So why should I fight it?
Should I let it control me?
I do feel better after the storm,
The world looks different,
Shiny and new,
A new start, maybe,
But the rain will be back,
The storm builds and builds,
Until the sky, the mind,
Cannot hold it in any longer,
And the cycle repeats,
The storm comes, the tears fall,
But when the circumstances are right,
The storm will begin again,
And the rain,
And the lightning,
And the thunder will return,
But maybe, then,
I will be stronger,
And the storm won't last,
The sun will shine,
On my new, different world,
And, maybe, then I will begin to understand,
The reasons for my storms.
