Four-Letter Word
I never thought it would happen to me;
That one little four-letter word;
The one that follows me wherever I go.
I could never have imagined.
It's so strong;
Strong enough to through me off a cliff,
Yet still strong enough to catch me before I hit rock bottom;
Strong enough to pull me back to safety.
It can keep me flying high in the air,
But in an instant, I'm falling,
So fast,
So fast, I don't believe anything can save me.
But there is one thing,
One person who can save me;
The person who started the fall;
"I was wrong."
"I guess I just needed to talk to you."
"I love you."
And there it is again;
That one little four-letter word.
I believed it to be a curse,
But then it found me and showed me its true face.
Nothing that beautiful,
That honest and that true,
Could be a curse.
It could only be a blessing in disguise,
It's my four-letter word,
And to that one person who saved me,
I love you, too.
