ďHeading HomeĒ
by: daniel fesperman

Iím on my way home far away from here,
Away from everything Iím running from.
What she said I just donít know,
Itís the way she said it that hurt me so.

The way home is dark and long,
Longer tonight than it used to be.
Iím walking away from a place in my past,
And Iím running into the future.

The future is now the present,
And then the past.
Iíve turned around to chase the past,
But Iím heading into the future.

The further I go, the shorter the wait,
But, I know, I am in no hurry.
At first I was running, but now I am crawling,
Praying it will all be gone in the morning.
