I met Cliff almost 8 years ago when he came into the book store/coffee shop where I was working. He helped himself to a cup of coffee and walked out of the store with out paying.  It didn't take him very long to realize he hadn't paid for the coffee, so he came back in feeling a little humbled.  He explained that he was recovering from brain surgery and wasn't a 100% in the thinking department. He was waiting for Outreach to come and give him a ride home, so I invited him to have a seat in the store while he waited.

We talked a bit, and immediately hit it off. He told me about his son and wife Janet, and how much they meant to him. He struck me as a very honorable man, in a way that you don't see every day. We became good friends.

That day in the coffee shop, he mentioned that he had a friend that worked on his web site for him, but he had moved away. I mentioned that I enjoyed working on web sites and that's how our friendship began. We did most of our communicating over e-mail or on the phone. I would make updates to the site, add pages, or work on photographs for him. Occasionally we met for coffee, which he would jokingly promise not to steal. He always made me laugh. He was a good man, and will be missed.
