Words of certainty to deaf ears hang briefly in the air

But diminish to a whispered truth, inaudible to you.

You, the one who needs to hear them.

Who cannot hear my screams of anguish,

Or the pounding of my heart on my chest,

Beating your name, bleeding your presence.

As plain as the scar you left,

Still festering and wailing in your loss,

Waiting for you to return, to heal up thoroughly

Without your remiss.
