A blindfold of corruption is secured around our eyes
Since our loss of innocence.
It blocks out morals and values and causes us to act in unlawful manor.
One day, one event, one split-second pulls the blindfold from our eyes and
We see the corruption.
We see the product of our carelessness.
We see the damage done by our attitude.
Unforgiving rubble lies on the ground.
It will be cleaned up, but a guilty conscience of naivety hangs over the site.
Then months, weeks, days, even hours later, we break our resolution,
The pledge to our cause.
We return to our routine and lose the sensitivity of the issue.
Again, the blindfold of our corrupted patriotism is placed over our eyes.
Slowly destroying everything as we know it.
