Analysis

Select any passages from the book (10 for freshmen, 20 for sophomores) that you think reveal an important aspect of character, a key point in the plot, is particularly poignant (thought provoking) or eloquent (well said), or that you personally relate t. Each should be 1-5 sentences. Give me enough of the passage that it makes sense. Do not use ellipses (…) to abbreviate the quote. Use all of it! Don’t forget to include the page number for the passage in parentheses after the quote. Sample: “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times” (15).

In your words, explain why the quote is important, interesting, or unique. What does it reveal about the character? How is it important to the plot or theme? Explain the context of the passage so that someone who has never read your book would understand it. Why did you choose it? Your analysis should be at least 3-5 sentences. The analysis will be graded on quality of responses more than quantity.
