TRAINS

They told her that
she rode men like trains,
getting off one and on to another
without ever looking back.

But they were wrong,
she didn't ride men like trains,
she rode them like taxis.

Because when you ride a train,
you go where the train wants to go.
But when you ride a taxi,
the taxi goes where you want it to go.

So no, she didn't ride men like trains
She rode them like taxis,
taking the thrill of the ride
that she would miss
when she was with her ex husband
whom she hadn't met yet.

And when she would be old
she would miss it,
so it's a good thing
she was having her fun now
while she was young.
