MEMORIES OF THE WIND

He walked along the sidewalk
on a bleak summer's day,
while the shadows of the Wind
whispered in his ears-
soft murmerings that reminded him
of another time...

when that same Wind
flung him from the Ground-
flipped him, spinned him,
and turned him upside down.

When his surprise turned to glee
and he'd laughed
and he'd yelled
and he'd cried out in joy

as the Wind swept him up in its arms
and flew him along
in his very own roller-coaster
or merry-go-round
and he'd yelled "Waaahooooo!"

And the Wind would catch him when he fell,
and save him from the pain
that'd have been
inflicted from the Ground.

And the Wind embraced him,
and kissed him,
and even made love with him
away from the the world...

but those days were gone now,
and 'stead here 'e walked,
along the desolate sidewalk,
lost in memories of his Wind.
