FIVE YEARS AGO

Five years ago,
If somebody told me
that I'd give up my
romantic nature
for my career,

I would never have believed them.

I would have predicted
that I would quit my job
and work at a restaurant
before giving up my romantic dreams.

But five years ago,
I did not realize how important I was
in this world.

So I put down my dreams,
and picked up my halberd,
and walked into the war.

Perhaps when all this is over
I will settle down with a family.
But I doubt it,-
I think this will never end.
