BEES FROM A HIVE

We are bees from a hive
if no one tells us
what to do
we sit around
twitching our wings
lazy and depressed.

We are bees from a hive
we revel in flying
alone out into the world
faraway from our hive,
exploring,
our wings flapping freely--
we are not happy
if we never get to.

We are bees from a hive
we feel safe and secure
when we are living together
if we are told to come home
when it is dark.

We are bees from a hive.
We have things that we like,
but we need someone to tell us
what to do and when to do it
for us to be happy.

The last stanza probably needs work.
It started as the first two stanzas, the latter two stanzas were intended to be implied but I decided they needed to be written out explicitly.
