THE ADVENTURER

She said (to him) "I am an adventurer."
And he turned to her and smiled.
In his face, she saw the brightness of the Sun,
for he loved that about her.
But he knew something she didn't:
that having kids someday would be more exciting.

And when they spent less time using their hiking boots,
she saw that he was right;
that having kids was better
than hiking up wet grassy slopes,
even though she was less nurturing than he was.
