"BLESSED MORNING"
This morning when I woke up
And saw the sun above,
I softly said, "Good morning, Lord,
Bless everyone I love."
Right away I thought of you
And said a loving prayer
That He would bless you specially,
And keep you free from care.
I thought of all the happiness
The day could hold in store,
I wished it all for you because
No one deserves it more.
I felt so warm and good inside,
My heart was all aglow,
I know God heard my prayers for you,
He hears them all, you know

A Child Learns to Trust

My mom is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
She makes me lie down
under cool, downy comforts.
She watches me play
beside still waters.
She restores my soul.
She leads me in paths of respect,
responsibility, and goodness,
for I am her namesake!
Yea, even though I walk past
monsters in the dark,
I will not be ascared,
because my mom is always near me.
Her hands and her voice,
they comfort me.
Mama sets the table and
cheerfully calls me to dinner
even in front of big, mean bullies.
She anoints my skinned knees
and broken heart with kisses.
She smiles and throws me a towel
when my cup runneth over.
Surely God's peace, power,
and mercy shall uphold me
all the days of my life,
for my Mother taught me to dwell
in the house of God forever
I said a prayer for you today
And know God must have heard.
I felt the answer in my heart
Although I heard no word.
I didn't ask for wealth or fame
(I knew you wouldn't mind.)
I asked to send you treasures
Of a far more lasting kind.
I asked that God be near you
At the start of each new day
To grant you health and blessings
And friends to share your way.
I asked for happiness for you
In all things great and small,
But it was God's loving care for you
That I prayed for most of all.
Someone taught you how to love,
and probably didn't know it.
And in return, with every day,
It's now your turn to show it.
When you love, you give a gift,
And when you're gone it stays
To be passed on by the ones you loved
To make some one else's day.
So remember someone who loved you,
And show how much you care,
By sharing all the love they gave
With people everywhere.
When you give away your love,
That doesn't mean it's gone.
Love will last forever,
so open your heart...
and pass it on
May God who watches over us
And guides us from above
Grant you the richest blessings
Of His everlasting love;
May He grant true happiness
And everlasting joy to you
On this day and always,
