Dreamhaunters: A Pridechant A Song Of The Churni (Death Elwens) As Heard By Elshar Deathwield We haunt the dreams of those who walk in the light. We have taught them how to fear the night. The life Elwens shiver, and cower and quiver- We have taught them the meaning of fright. We walk with death in a way no other mortals do, Save the deathtrotters, like us through and through. The creatures of life make their own strife- But stand united against us; what else can they do? We have voyaged in distant lands under strange stars, And heard the voices singing laments faint and far. We come back, but what we know makes our eyes glow- To us, the boundary between lands is no bar. Do we dare relinquish the path we have taken? The creatures of light hate us, call us forsaken. But perhaps they too would like to do as we do- Make death their partner, walk the road not taken. I have danced with death as my partner, veiled. I have seen sights that would make others pale. I will not turn my back, betray the night for the day- It is the place I was born to sail.
