LEE SUM-KIT
Angelica Lee Sum-kit was born in Malaysia. Film director Sylvia Chang discovered her in a newcomers contest when Lee was still studying in high school. She was later invited to join Rock Records Co. Ltd. in Taiwan, and appeared in several TV commercials before releasing her first album. Her sixth album, "Ocean of Love" was released on September 2000.
Apart from her singing career, Lee has emerged as one of the brightest young stars in acting today. Her film debut was SUNSHINE COPS, and she was awarded the Piper Heidsieck New Talent Award in the 2001 Berlin Film Festival for her role in the Taiwanese film BETELNUT BEAUTY directed by Lin Cheng-Sheng. She has also recently finished shooting Sylvia Chang's upcoming movie PRINCESS D.
In her first project with Applause Pictures, Lee is the lead actress in the upcoming movie THE EYE, directed by the Pang Brothers. Lee's role is of a blind girl whose life is turned upside down after a corneal transplant operation that allows her to see things beyond ordinary vision.
