LOVERBOY
Topic: Riff-In-A-Jiff

"When It's Over" was a Top 20 hit from Loverboy's 1982 album Get Lucky. It has also appeared on all of the band's greatest hits compilations. Tabbed here is the guitar solo.

HEART - "HERE IS CHRISTMAS"
Topic: New Tab Postings

I've outlined the history of this album before in a blog post (in this entry), but a quick re-cap: "Here Is Christmas" was the title song of a Christmas album released by the Lovemongers, a group which was a side project of Heart's Ann and Nancy Wilson. The album was released in 1998. With no alterations made to the music, the album was repackaged in 2001 (with the cover seen below) and released as a Heart album. It was renamed Heart Presents A Lovemongers' Christmas. 2004 saw a third release of the disc (with the cover at right), with two new songs added.

This tab is actually two songs. The album opens with a verse of the Christmas standard "Bring A Torch, Jeanette Isabella" being played on acoustic guitar, then segues directly into "Here Is Christmas".

CP HOLIDAY TRAIN IN HAMILTON
Topic: Bands/Music

Canadian Pacific's Holiday Train made its annual visit to Hamilton recently. Below are some pictures from a really fun night. The train was spectacular and the live performances were great. The whole event had a really upbeat, feel-good atmosphere.

There are two CP Christmas light trains, actually, one that travels across Canada and one across the U.S. This year is the 15th anniversary of the train, and along with the regular tour stops, CP picked three cities to hold "signature events". Extra activities were added to these stops, as well as high profile performers. Hamilton (on Nov. 30) was one of those cities, with performers Great Big Sea, Natalie MacMaster, and Tom Cochrane and Red Rider sharing the spotlight with the star -- the train. Each band played for about forty minutes, great sets by all. In Hamilton, CBC anchorman Peter Mansbridge MC-ed the event. The site was packed, with estimations of a crowd of 20,000 showing up to take in the train and the music. The other two cities holding signature events are Calgary, Alberta (Dec. 7) and Cottage Grove, Minnesota (Dec. 14).

Of course, there are lots more stops still on the train's schedule for this year. So if it comes to your city or town, and you're looking for a fun outing, I'd recommend going to see it. And don't forget to take some non-perishable food items for their food drive.

Information about performers, the signature events, and the full Canada and U.S. train stop schedules can be found here on CP's website:

TOM COCHRANE - "CHRISTMAS ALL THE TIME"
Topic: New Chords Postings

The holiday track "Christmas All the Time" was released by Tom Cochrane in 2005. While it doesn't appear on any of his own albums, it does appear on the seasonal CD Images Of Christmas by John McDermott and Friends. The Cochrane-penned tune features him dueting with PEI-born singer-songwriter Tara MacLean.
