SPOONS - "NOVA HEART"
Topic: New Tab Postings

"Nova Heart" was the first single drawn from Arias & Symphonies (1982), the second album from Burlington, Ontario new wave band the Spoons. Released in April of 1982, the song became a Top 40 hit in Canada. It was followed by two more singles, the album's title track and "Smiling In Winter". The success of all three singles propelled Arias & Symphonies to gold status.

Singer/guitarist Gordon Deppe has described "Nova Heart" as being "a spiritual take on the end of childhood."1 In describing the album, he commented, "We think our appeal lies in keeping the music simple, while the lyrics ask you to explore remote places and uncommon ideas...That idea runs through the whole album."2

You can see a good live version of the song hereThe video is from 2007, and has the band looking and sounding a bit more 'rock-ish' than in their new wave/new romantic days. (That video had embedding disabled, though, so I couldn't include it here in this post.)

The tab is of the album version of the song, not the single edit. The album version is linked to below.
