THAT WAS THE DAY WE RAN INTO...
Topic: Bands/Music

Yesterday I posted a tab of The Guess Who song "Albert Flasher" on the site. So for today's blog entry, I'll post the story of where the song's title came from, as told by Randy Bachman. It's from an interview done in 2003.

Article excerpt:

One song that has regained a lot of attention is The Guess Who classic “Albert Flasher”, which appeared in the film Almost Famous. Although it’s one of Burton Cummings’s songs, Bachman puts a captivating spin on it.

“He had a party one night that went all night long and he didn’t get any sleep. He went to a radio station the next morning for an interview and was a little bit [out of] form before going on. He could hardly see straight. They said to him, ‘When the flashing light comes on, that means you’re on the air.’ The thing flashed ‘Alert Flasher’, and he thought it was ‘Albert Flasher’ and he said ‘What is this thing that says Albert Flasher?’ over the air!”

Hey Anne I am a little disappointed
All I heard today on the radio is some good Led Zeppelin
So I come to your great guitar tab site hopping to see some good riffs
And guess what, None
What's up with that

All you heard on the radio today was some good Led Zep? Hmmm, I wonder why that could be! Wink You know, I didn't have the radio on much today, but I suppose most rock stations did have all-Zep, all day, all the time, today. Turn on your radio and get Zep-ified.

No, I haven't gotten a riff posted in awhile. I was thinking that just the other day, that I need to get one prepared. I was thinking of doing the Intro to something like "Ready To Love Again" or "Survive", since I haven't done Harlequin in the Riffs section yet.

"None. What's up with that?"

I've been too busy making it snow on the home page. Laughing

Survive by Harlequin.

Or any other good riffs you got up your sleeve

Keep up the good work
