Christmas Orange Slice Cake

Ingredients:
1 pound Orange Candy Slices
8 oz. chopped Dates
2 cups Pecans
1 cup Coconut
3 1/2 cups Flour
1/2 teaspoon Salt
1 cup Butter
2 cups Sugar
4 eggs
1 teaspoon Baking Soda
1/2 cup Buttermilk

To Prepare:
Combine prepared orange candy slices, dates, pecans and coconut in 1/2 cup of the 3 1/2 cups of flour.
Sift the remaining 3 cups of flour with the salt in separate bowl.
Cream the butter in third bowl, add the sugar and cream till it's light.
Add eggs and beat after each addition.
Dissolve the baking soda in the buttermilk. Add alternately with the flour.
Add the candy mixture.
Place in a greased and floured tube pan.

To Prepare:
Bake 1 3/4 hours at 300 degrees.

For the topping, Heat 1 small can frozen orange juice undiluted, and 1 box light brown sugar.
Pour over the cake while it's still warm.
