My mom's recipe for stuffing goes something like this.I put about 4to5 cups bread crumbs, says Dorothy about the favourite recipe she sent in

1 egg, 1can mushrooms, 3 -4 cups of mashed potatoes
1 bag of sausage meat, (pure pork) 4-5 Cups Bread Crumbs

mix well,add salt and pepper and sage,Im not sure how much as I just shake it in and keep mixing well.
Then add one small onion chopped ,and then stuff bird or cook in cheese cloth inside of bird or now they say don't so sometimes I put it in tin foil beside the Turkey, it works either way.
It makes the stuffing moister and you can add more potatoes or breadcrumbs if you think you need more and a little water to the mixture if it gets to hard to mix.
I learned it by Mom saying a pinch of this and a pinch of that ,that is why it is hard to say just how much of the sage to put in,salt and pepper is easy,but it depends on how spicy you like thing,I am not fussy on a lot of spice so I don't put as much sage in..
