Episode #3: Dragon Edition:
In Honor of D-War

Orochi versus Dodongo (Ultraman Series 1)

With a great flash of red lightning, the terrible hydra, Orochi surfaced from the sea. Maw agape, the behemoth poured flames onto the military vehicles that had awaited its arrival, leaving little but molten material remaining. Then came twin Apache helicopters. The assault crafts set all of their projectiles roaring loose, with little effect on the ancient dragon. Bullets bounced off of its hide and missiles did nothing more than throw smoke. With blazing speed, a red energy bolt from the hydra’s maw brought both vehicles to an end. As the hydra pulled its massive bulk from the water and onto the Monster Island shore, a jet arrived on the scene. The vehicle passed over head, dropping its stash of bombs as it went. Explosions spread across the dragon’s back but to it didn’t seem to phase him.

Practically unopposed, the dark god pushed forward, laughing at the defenses that keep the kaiju within.

Tsukuyomi had returned, still as evil as ever. His plan now, was to release the monsters held on monster island onto the rest of the world, a living plague to the land. He would let the kaiju of Earth do his work for him.

He focused in on the attack craft, preparing to destroy the assault craft with his red lightning. Before he had a chance to fire, dual yellow beams of energy struck the craft, sending it spiraling down to crash into the sea, leaving a trail of smoke behind it. Orochi directed its attention to hill top, from which the beams originated. From there he found a creature much like itself, a horned, reptilian being with a serpentine neck. It was another ancient dragon, a being known as Dodongo. Orochi was quite delighted. Not only would this being be a tool, it would be an ally. It could enforce his laws amongst the world of humans and remind them that Tsukuyomi was in charge, even when he wasn’t around.

What Orochi did not anticipate, was that the great behemoth did not consider the god a savior, come to save it from a life of captivity, but an intruder upon its home.

The opposing serpent threw its head back into a roar before it launched itself from the hill side, landing before the great Orochi. Realizing it was too close, Dodongo immediately begins to flap its wings wildly, hoping that the resulting sand storm would give it some cover as its put some distance between the two. When finally the winded assault came to an end Dodongo found his foe had been waiting patiently where it was. Now that the storm was over and it could see its pathetic foe it launched an assault of energy beams, just meters before Dodongo’s feet, tipping the winged serpent over. After Dodongo had been grounded orochi brought the attack to an end, but when it tried to get up a beam of red energy would strike the ground next to it, summoning an explosion that left it back on the ground. Dodongo became enraged, knowing its arrogant foe was toying with the dragon as if it were no threat. The creature lifted its head, its eyes in such a way that it looked as though he were begging Orochi’s forgiveness. That’s when Dodongo attacked. Two waves of energy projected from its eyes, crackling against Orochi’s hide. While Orochi was still stunned from the attack, the dragon pulled itself off of the ground and made a dash towards Orochi, shifting its body from side to side incase Orochi decided to attack. However, Dodongo successfully reached Orochi’s position, using its front legs to topple Orochi back into the sea. As Orochi, toppled over, a gaping serpentine maw set a blazing stream of flames free, Dodongo barely avoided the attack. The great hydra soon came back at Dodongo, this time attacking with its massive, spiked tail. The dragon tried to defend itself with its eye beams, crackling against the hydra’s tail, to no avail, its appendage slammed into the dragon’s chest, throwing the monster to the ground. Orochi took advantage of its foe’s condition. As Dodongo awkwardly, tried to get back to its feet, Orochi’s jaws snapped down on its front legs. Using its many heads in unison, the legendary serpent tossed the ancient leviathan aside. Unwilling to give the treacherous monster another chance, Orochi struck Dodongo with a red lightning bolt, tossing it backwards. With a squeal in agony as debris crashed against its form, Dodongo was sent rolling backwards, crushing his own wings beneath himself. Desperate to drive Orochi away, the downed dragon struck its feet with its eye lasers. Orochi arrogantly huffed flames onto Dodongo, searing his face. The ancient dragon squealed in agony as its face caught fire (he seriously sounds like Mothra).

After rubbing his face against the dirt to extinguish the flames, the creature’s wings kicked up a storm of dust as it got to its feet. Orochi laughed at the creature’s efforts and expelled a storm of red energy onto the ground before Dodongo. Rather than allow himself to be thrown to the ground again, the ancient monster cut through the resulting smoke cloud and brought his form down onto Orochi. Having his chest slammed into by the bulky kaiju caused Orochi great discomfort, and forcing him back a few paces. Quickly recovering from the assault Orochi roared in challenge to the opposing dragon. Dodongo fired its eye lasers once more, this time one of Orochi’s heads launched its own optic blast as well. The result, two golden beams directed at Orochi, and two red beams directed at Dodongo, sparks flowing from the orb f energy that appeared in between the two. However, Dodongo’s weaker beam weapon was quickly forced back by Orochi’s power until at last the red beams reached the golden rays’ points of origin, leaving Dodongo blind. Roaring in great pain Dodongo threw itself at Orochi. Orochi, feeling strangly generous, decided to put the miserable kaiju out of its pain forever with a mammoth out burst of red energy.

Orochi turned around and headed back to the sea. If all of Earth’s monsters were this disobedient they wouldn’t be worth the effort. Tsukuyomi decided he were better off on his own.

King Ghidorah versus Baragon

Having defeated Anguirus with relative ease, Ghidorah continued his raid upon Earth. The dragon was angered after landing on an island with another horned lizard begging for a fight.

Ghidorah became irritated at the number of great entities on Earth. His wounds had finally healed from the first fight and now he faced a second.

His foe, Baragon, had also celebrated a victory over Kamoebas in the past (see Fatal Friday Fights Episode 0.1), winning command over the island and refused to allow this invader upon his territory go unpunished. He cried out to the hovering dragon, daring it to try and take the island from him.

Ghidorah would teach the arrogant dinosaur its place. Shrieking in response to the horned behemoth’s roars, Ghidorah made a landing in front of the great dinosaur, crushing many trees beneath the bulk of his body.

Baragon roared, declaring himself mighty as he clumsily marched toward the hydra. The space dragon would bring Baragon’s charge to an immediate holt, flapping its great wings to produce powerful winds, knocking the creature off balance. As Baragon stumbled backward uncontrollably, a boulder rolling his way amongst other debris gave Baragon an idea. When the gust came to a halt, Baragon reared up on his hind legs, awkwardly cradling the mass of rock in his forelimbs before propelling it through the air to meet with Ghidorah‘s chest. The tri-headed menace was knocked back from the attack, forcing him to take two steps backwards. Baragon, again, made an advance toward Ghidorah. To Baragon’s surprise, when Ghidorah’s far right maw widened, instead of a roar, a discharge of golden energy escaped its jaws. The energy collided into Baragon’s hide, throwing sparks from his shoulder as the dinosaur toppled to his back.. Vengeful, the great dinosaur staggered to its feet. King Ghidorah crackled, as if to discourage Baragon from attacking. The carnivore issued a savage war cry as it hurled itself through the air at Ghidorah. Unimpressed, Ghidorah only ducked its heads down, as Baragon passed over head. The stupid dinosaur came to a skidding stop after hitting the dirt. Ghidorah pivoted its form around to meet Baragon face to face. The horned dinosaur was ready and tried again. This time, when Baragon jumped, a golden beam lanced the brave little kaiju in the gut, throwing him back in a shower of sparks. Baragon steadily got to its feet. It turned to face Ghidorah before lifting itself off of the ground. To Ghidorah’s surprise the monster’s great maw widened, and a red wave of energy escaped from between its jaws. The heat ray crashed into Ghidorah’s scaled chest, tearing the steady stream of energy into a small out burst of spark and smoke. The winged demon staggered back in its surprise before going back on the attack with its gravity rays, knocking Baragon over. The creature rolled over and began a four-legged dash in the direction opposite of Ghidorah, taking gravity rays to the back all the way.

This went on for a little while, when Baragon hatched an idea. He thrust his horn into the ground and began to violently shake his head back and forth. After loosening up a layer of crust its claws were thrust down into the whole for faster work. Ghidorah went into an energized frenzy of destructive light rays as the dinosaur’s tail sank down into Baragon’s new burrow. Ghidorah began its trek forward to investigate were its enemy had gone to. Ghidorah didn’t get far whent Baragon’s form broke through the ground behind Ghidorah, and the dinosaur was propelled high into the air. Before Ghidorah ever had a chance to counter, Baragon came down onto its back, hooking its arms around Ghidorah’s neck to keep him in place as he continuously kicked Ghidorah in the back. Unsure of the situation he was in Ghidorah began to panic, crackling and sending gravity rays into the air. As its tails flailed about madly, the tip of one its tail brushed Baragon’s leg. Ghidorah finally realized what was happening. Baragon soon found his tail ensnared by the serpent coils of Ghidorah’s. With a yank of its tails, ghidorah pulled Baragon off of its back and tossed it into the forest. Baragon was quick to get to his feet and go on the attack, lunging at Ghidorah, trying to impale it on its horn. Ghidorah jumped back, missing Baragon by a fraction of a second. Baragon hit nothing but the groun, swatting a boulder it came upon in its rage. Baragon didn’t have much time to complain because in a matter of moments afterwards, Ghidorah’s jaws closed around his tail. With a powerful twist of the body, Ghidorah released his grip and let Baragon go sliding across the dirt. The dinosaur lie dazed as Ghidorah jaws snapped shut on its arms and neck. After lifting the dinosaur off of the ground it began to hurl its own form around in circles. After the third full circle it released, slamming an unconscious Baragon into a hill side.

having buried Baragon in a land slide the great Ghiodorah took to the sky, bombarding the entire island with gravity rays until little but barren land scape remained. Feeling pleased with its self the intergalactic plague, again searched for some sign of an intelligent civilization to annihilate
