Angel Gabriel
The Angel Gabriel is mentioned only a few times in the bible, twice in the Old Testament and twice in the New.
He is the angel who told Mary that she would bear the son of God, and told Zachariah that he would have a son who would become John the Baptist. According to later legend, he is also the unidentified angel in the Book of Revelation (the Apocalypse of John) who blows the horn announcing the Judgment Day. To both Catholics and the Orthodox, he is St. Gabriel the Archangel, known to some as the patron saint of communications workers. With Michael and Raphael, his feast day is September 29.

Negro Baseball League
Baseball was first segregated December 11,1868 in a vote by the National Association of baseball players. The club voted unanimously to bar "any club which may be composed of one or more colored persons." This was the first appearance of an official "color line" in baseball.
This rule only applied to amateur ball clubs and in the late 19th century there were many integrated professional teams. In 1884 the Walker brothers, two black men even played in the major leagues. This all changed with the beginning of the twentieth century. Some leagues created in the 1930s flourished on their own, independent of the white major leagues.
The Negro National League folded in 1948, after Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier of major league baseball. Younger players were then signed by mainstream major league clubs, and older players, as Troy wouldve been, were ignored.
