Wild Wind's Avalon Summer Song
CD, PT, CGC, ASCA CD ROMP

"Lyric"

Lyric is a lovely, sound rough bitch-one of Laura's favorite dogs. She is a VERY talented performance dog-having her HT and one PT leg she will soon be attaining her herding trail titles. Lyric is also an awesome agility dog and will be attending her first trials in September of 2002. She needs her majors to finish and will be looking for those this fall and winter. Lyric was bred this past summer and has produced some gorgeous babies-most of them normal eyed and GORGEOUS! One is with Cathy Toft in California-her new agility/obedience hopeful, and one special daughter is in Texas hopefully learning to be a seizure alert dog for her adorable 8 year old mistress, one daughter-Wild Wind's Midnight Confessions will be staying here at Wild Wind-"Hope" has a lot of promise as Laura's next breed/obedience/herding and agility partner!

Lyric was just awarded her ROMP as a Top Producer of Performance Puppies.

 "Karma"

Karma is now 10 years old. She and I have accomplished more than I had ever dreamed I'd do with a dog. Even at 10 she is so smart, healthy, robust, athletic and enthusiastic! She is still my demo dog in obedience classes and delights the students every day with her cute tricks and antics. Karma is the 3rd UDX Champion collie, the 1st and only Champion/UDX2 collie in history. She is now basically retired from the obedience ring to make training time for me with some of the younger dogs. She will do advanced rally and we may well dabble in herding ducks-which Karma loves.

Karma is truly my little "soul mate dog", I ask her all the time what I ever did to deserve a dog as amazing as she is-she just wags her tail and lets me know she loves me.

CH Wild Wind's Dressed to Kill HT OA NAJ

"Kiss"

Kiss has truly been a dream dog-she is a multiple group placing, group winning, stunning agility girl. Kiss had retired from the breed ring for a couple of years to raise a litter or two (Kiss is the dam of several champion, group placing and group winning puppies).

When Kiss turned 7, Laura said she'd like to "play" with Kiss as a Veteran! Well,  "play" they did! Starting a Veterans Career in February  of 07 by April of 07, Kiss was Number 2 Smooth Collie by the All Breed  Rankings-a ranking she held for all of 2007.

We were invited to and attended Eukanuba Cup in December of 2007. Kiss was yet again retired in 2008 so I could keep her home to finish some of her performance titles-by March of 08 Kiss had finished her CDX and her AX-and she attained another MXJ leg. We are working on her UD and will most likely run for her MX and MXJ. Kiss will be bred one more time-we have an exciting littler plan for later this summer/fall for her last trip to the whelping box.

Jay picking up a group 3 from the classes              Picking up a group 4 as a Special!

CH Wild Wind's Moment of Clarity RN "Jay"

Jay is out of our group winning, multiple group placing CH Wild Wind's Dressed To Kill CDX,HT,AX,AXJ,RA,VX-Kiss's first litter. Jay finished easily and was awarded a Group 4 from the classes on her way to her title.

Her first time in the ring AS a special Jay won a Group 1 and on the same weekend she got a Group 3. It was decided to let Jay grow up a bit, she had a lovely litter and is now starting back in the ring as a special. As of June of 2008 and in just a few weekends out Jay has several BOV's a few BOS's and a Group 3. She will be starting her agility and obedience career this year also! She is proving to be as amazing of a dog as her famous mom.

CH Wild Wind Mustang Sally "Sally"

Sally is one of those puppies who is born in a litter who just DRAWS the attention of all who looked at her. She was obviously a star in an overall beautiful litter. Sally is a daughter of our amazing Group winning, multiple group placing, CH Wild Wind's Dressed to Kill CDX,HT,AX,AXJ,RA,VX and a younger, full sister of our group winning, multiple group placing CH Wild Wind's Moment of Clarity RN "Jay". We are a small kennel and we adore Jay so it was decided to find Sally a SERIOUS show home. Rebecca Eckstadt approached me, desperately wanting a smooth bitch she could DEFINITELY finish and have some fun with and it was agreed that Sally would go live with Becky. Sally was expertly trained and handled to her championship in VERY short order (under a year of age) by our friend Judy Johnson in Iowa in tough mid western competition-we are so proud and are SO thankful for Becky as an owner and Judy as a trainer/handler of our beautiful girl! Becky has kept Sally home to grow up a bit, Judy has a lot of other handling commitments right now so recently we visited our dear old friend Kim Wood from Minnesota-we introduced Kim and Becky at the CCA in LaCrosse in 2008.

Kim is ready to begin showing again after a few years off and she loved Becky's beloved little Sally so it has been agreed that Kim will pilot Sally's new Specials Career! They have only been out a couple of weekends and again in tough mid west competition and at just over 1 1/2 years of age Kim and Sally have several BOV's and a couple of BOS's!

We truly treasure Becky's love for and commitment to Sally, and Kim and Judy's help and confidence in this girl, handling her to the success she has seen! Thank you guys! Keep up the good work!

Wild Wind’s Can’t Fight This Feelin CDX,HSAs,NA, "Reo"

Reo  has 11 pts 1 major.

Reo is an amazing girl. Her mother is Wild Wind's Avalon Summer Song CD,PT,ROMP "Lyric"- We marvel at the work ethic, intelligence and intensity that Lyric puppies all seem to have in common-we hope Reo produces her amazing drive and work ethic in her own puppies!

Reo is singled out in the breed ring and has major reserves. Reo amazes me all the time with what she loves to do-WORK! She adores obedience, she attained her CDX in 2 weekends with scores all in the 190's with a 2nd place at a large obedience trial, HIT at our regional specialty and another 2nd place at the large all breed show following the specialty. All of the obedience judges commented at what an amazing working collie she is-we are working on Utility. Reo has legs in novice agility and novice agility jumpers-she is fast and enthusiastic in agility AND she is a tremendous herding dog-she has her PT and a leg on her HSAS. My friend Janie Nafsinger who is a herding judge with HX collies in a recent email list post called Reo "Greased Lightening" in working stock, I need to keep on my toes to control her-but she is FAST and INTENSE! Trialing Reo in any venue is always FUN and a great adventure-what a joy it is to ALWAYS step into the ring with a dog who REALLY wants to be working with you!

Reo is bred to our multiple group placing special CH Wild Wind's Free Fallin RN "Tom" Puppies are due in late July of 2008. We are SO excited about this upcoming litter!

Diamond taking a group 3 in Brighton                             Diamond taking a major in Denver

CH Wild Wind's Hollywood Nights "Diamond"

Diamond is another Kiss daughter, littermate to CH Wild Wind's Mustang Sally and younger sister of CH Wild Wind's Moment of Clarity RN. Diamond lives with our friend Chryss Guiller. Chyrss adores her couple of little smooth girls, we sold her Diamond on the agreement that we could finish her Championship, well Diamond has done incredibly well. She got a 4 pt. major at the big Rocky Mountain Classis under breeder judge Doris Werderman in February of 2008. She was also Best Bred By and 1st in the Bred by Group, an accomplishment she recently repeated at the Laramie Kennel Club shows this past May. Diamond got her second major on the specialty weekend in Brighton Colorado going BOV over several specials under specialist judge Randy Sheets! Randy adored Diamond and also awarded her a Group 3 that day-from the classes, we were thrilled to say the least! Diamond came into season while sitting on 13pts and both majors, it was decided to breed her so once she finished she could become totally Chryss's beloved companion and be done with the show scene. We thought we'd finish her at the Laramie shows a week after she was bred, silly us, she was RWB to another lovely littermate-so she will look for those last two singles after her motherhood duties are done.

Diamond's Pedigree

Diamond has been bred to our beautiful sable merle marked white smooth boy, Wild Wind's Labarynth "Bowie" and is due July 4th, 2008.

CH Cyndella's Wild Wind Centerfold "Bunny"

Sometimes things happen for a reason. We weren't looking for a puppy, Laura and I were recovering from the tragic loss of a young blue smooth girl who had swallowed a toy which didn't show up on x rays - even with lots of care from our beloved vet we lost our darling little Blitz.

We absently followed a group of collie friends after the groups to "puppy snuggle" Kelly Neeley's newest litter. They were handing puppies out of the motorhome to waiting hands to deposit into an x pen-they happened to hand my daughter Laura a darling blue puppy bitch. After all the pups were in the pen I noticed that Laura was holding tightly to the cute blue smooth puppy girl, crying-everyone knew about our tragic loss and understood. I hugged Laura and listened to Kelly talk about how the breeding came about, her reasoning for the breeding and finding myself more and more impressed. I was eyeballing a cute blue smooth boy and thinking I might breed to him one day if he stayed as nice as he was as Kelly was saying that she would hang on to all 3 blue girls (one rough) if a SERIOUS show home didn't come along.

All of a sudden Laura tearfully said "Mom, we need another blue smooth girl one day", I looked at the beautiful girl that Laura was still clutching and said "Why don't you ask Kelly what she wants for THAT puppy, WE ARE a pretty serious show home"! Well, a deal was struck and our beloved Bunny came to live here at Wild Wind. Bunny is the first puppy we've gotten from another breeder in many, many years and we couldn't be more thrilled-she is JUST amazing.

Bunny is growing up beautifully her at Wild Wind Collies!  We just adore her intelligence, drive and just great sense of humor-she is an amazing girl who at almost 2 years of age is ready to start matching in novice obedience and rally, is working hard on perfecting agility skills and is working sheep weekly.  Watch for her to burn up performance rings in the next year or two!

Thank you Kelly, we hope to make you proud-you KNOW we adore our little Bunny!

Diva pictured with my friend Janet Kaufmann

Wild Wind's Beyond Beautiful "Diva" (major pointed)

"Diva was born the star of her litter, just a beautiful, fun puppy right from the beginning.  At 5 months she had a terrible injury while playing with some of her littermates which took months to repair.  The orthopedic vets thought she would never walk normally, well she proved them all wrong, she is sound and she is beautiful.  I credit her full physical recovery to her tremendous balance and wonderful angulation.  We put Diva in the ring on Sunday at our Terry All Dog shows to see how she was doing, and to help hold a major and she won!

We are so proud of our beautiful girl!  Watch for Diva in the breed ring, obedience ring, herding ring and agility in the near future!
