The management team at my store nominated me to represent the store at the annual shareholders meeting in northwest Arkansas. The main meetings and lodging was at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, and tours of Corporate Office were in Bentonville. One associate is selected by the managers to go to the meeting every other year. Since this is an even year my store, # 2278, was able to go. During my trip from May 31 to June 3 I was required to attend meetings where we discussed new things the company was doing to take better care of the customer. I was required to take note of any pertinent information that would be of use at my store. In doing so I took about 11 pages of notes and over 150 pictures. The following gallery is a sample of some of the pictures I took.
I was lucky enough to fly out of Erie with 5 other associates from my district (associates from Erie, Corry, Edinboro, Harborcreek, and Titusville). The other associates from my district got to ride a bus. Since we all flew together we basically stuck together as a group only meeting with our district and district manager for the meetings. Regarding travel...7 associates from the northern Pittsburgh district attended the meeting, 1 flew and the other 6 took a bus!
Now I know what you're thinking, Bill's all brainwashed into Wal-Mart, but considering my store employs around 300 people, and only 1 person every 2 years gets to go (we've been open for 10years) it was an honor to represent store 2278 at this event.
