ENDOTOXIN FILTERS
* Endotoxins can cause a Pyrogenic reaction if they enter a patient's blood stream.
* Signs and symptoms of a Pyrogenic reaction include:
- Sudden onset of fever that rises rapidly from baseline.
- Involuntary shaking chills (rigors).
- Low blood pressure.
- Complaint of being cold or feeling bad.
If A Patient Demonstrates Signs Or Symptoms Of A Pyrogenic Reaction, Discontinue Treatment And DO NOT Return Their Blood. Alert B.E.S.T. and CD or RD.
