~Keith&EnisMemories~
Karen's memories:
I don't know how old Dad was when this happened, but he said Grandma and Grandpa and the kids were all in the living room. All of a sudden upstairs they heard "step, clomp, step...step, clomp, step". Grandpa went upstairs to see what was going on and there was nothing. A little while later they heard "step, clomp, step...step, clomp, step". Again, nothing was upstairs. Later they heard that their grandpa (I guess it was our grandpa's father) had been killed in a car accident. He used to walk with a cane, so they thought the "step, clomp, step" was a "sign" that something bad was about to happen.
Here are some things Dad told me about them. Grandpa Raymond (Chester) wore a size 5 shoe and was 5ft 2 inches tall. He used to sit on Grandma's lap. He was a tiny man, but was respected. He was a carpenter and there's a house in Wayne, Michigan that he built. Dad took us by it a few times and showed us. Coming from Mom and Dad's old house and going toward Wayne it's off of Michigan Avenue before you get to Wayne Road. I think the road you would turn on is called Elizabeth.
I remember when Little Grandma Raymond (that's what I called her)(Mary) stayed overnight at our house she slept with a handkerchief covering her eyes because she was afraid of the dark.Aunt Blanche and Grandpa were like me and Sharon...she had red hair and he had black hair.
