Mitchell Player is an excellent instrumentalist who's been playing for years in Leroy Jones' quintet. After the disaster in New Orleans resulting from Hurrican Katrina, Player was one of the more active among musicians trying to put to use his own energy and to find concrete solutions for helping musicians struck by the catastrophe. Mitchell now lives in Rome, NY and serves as principal for the YMCA's Youth Center for the Creative Arts. |
