Being developed and nurtured during the Islamic Revolution, The Grand Mosque Siege and the Afghan Soviet War, Maurice Booker was an artist from the moment he could hold a pencil. A product of the 80s, his first love was animated cartoons, which lead him into his current love of sequential storytelling. The comic book bug bit when he was twelve. After graduating from the Tennessee Preparatory School, while also doing an apprenticeship at Watkins Young Artist Program, Booker went to college, earning an Associate of Arts degree in commercial art. Booker is still searching for that big break, doing freelance work on the side, and is currently working on two projects: the graphic novel Mahdi the Redeemer of Islam and a story proposal for Marvel comics.
