Course Description: Military History - (lectures, special interest projects, and field trips) Survey of global military history from medieval origins through the end of the 19th century. Emphasis on the Crusades and European colonization. Also includes chapters on American military history from colonial origins through the end of the 19th century. Emphasis on the wars of a young republic through the Civil War and the frontier West which then continues to 1900 to present, with emphasis on the strategies and major battles of World War I, Vietnam, Korea, and World War II.
