CHAS was the DESIGNATED DRIVER
[Be afraid. Be very afraid!]
Our Rental Car was a BRAND NEW Silver CITROËN PICASSO!
It was PRISTINE and had all of FOUR miles on it when we got into it.
[When we got OUT of it on Sunday, June 4, it had over 1360 miles on it
and a DING on the rear fender. Thankfully, they didn’t NOTICE the ding!]
It was quite roomy:
Ruby kept her luggage in the “BOOT” (the hatchback trunk)
Chas’ luggage was kept in the back seat.
Here we are at our first “WELCOME BREAK” stop.
That’s the most frequently-used UK term for a “REST STOP”
But, the UK’s Welcome Breaks have Petrol stations, restaurants, shops,
and Tourist Centers … in addition to TOILETS and a place to park.
Oddly enough, we had parked right next to ANOTHER
Silver Citroën Picasso in the Welcome Break lot!
Ah. Another UK sign for my collection:
I cannot imagine ANY USA establishment “APOLOGIZING”
for not taking certain credit cards! They are SOOOOO polite in the UK!
Hey, KIM! Check out the MASSAGE CHAIRS available
in this WELCOME BREAK!
After refreshing ourselves and getting some COFFEE, we were back
enroute to CANTERBURY … the first stop on our 2006 UK Trek.
If you have information or suggestions for Ruby & Chas’ 2006 UK TOUR Website
or PHOTO contributions for it!
