After the disappointment with the Encore Bruticus reissue due to no die cast metal, poor quality, and tempographs, I went to Ebay and looked for the original Bruticus.  I got tired of waiting and still no decent original Bruticus, I ended up grabbing the original die cast metal Protectobots/ Defensor instead.  Back in the 80's, I used to have Streetwise and First Aid until I lost it.  It just vanished one day along with my other Transformers.   Now, I'm just excited by having the Protectobots/ Defensor again.  It cost me a fortune, $CCXXX, from Ebay and arrived to me on Aug. Xv, Mmix.

Nothing escapes his notice...amazing capacity to adapt to understand his environment. Clever and determined--nothing deters him from seekinmg his prey--except an empty fuel tank. As car, has powerful double-mounted air-compressor cannon with 50 mile range; as robot uses blinding photon pistol. With fellow Protectobots forms "Defensor". Sometimes overheats as car.

R-1 Streetwise in its Original condition:

R-2 Pre-Applied Decals/ Stickers: 

There are 2 Pre-Applied stickers that had been applied onto Streetwise.  The first sticker is an Autobot insignia located at the top of the car by the red siren.  Lastly, the final pre-applied sticker is the Autobot Rub Sign logo located on the top of the car hood by the front.

There are 4 registered numbering of stickers on the sticker sheet.  These registering numbering do not include the Pre-applied stickers.  These registering numbering do not include the Pre-applied stickers.  

R-3 Streetwise in Vehicle Mode:

In vehicle mode, Streetwise is a Nissan 300 ZX police car whose measurement is approximately 3 1/4 x 1 6/16 x 1 5/16 (LxWxH in inch).  The white color on Streetwise is sort of pale or dark but not as a bone white like Groove or First Aid.  His secondary colors are black for the windows and red for the siren and his back structure of his back.  Streetwise appearance will be best when his decals are applied onto him otherwise he will look plain for a police car.  From the back, there is a hole reserved for the double mounted air compressor cannon, see R-5.  He features die cast metal and the rests are  all plastic and this include the wheels as well.

R-4 Streetwise in Robot Mode:

Streetwise robot transformation is so simple and funky especially his leg/ feet.  It's like he has one big feet.   Starting from vehicle mode, pull the car apart in the opposite direction from another at the middle until you hear a click.  This will allow Streetwise thigh or leg to extend out by 1/4" which make him slightly taller in height.  The crotch and upper feet should have a gap between them, if not, it means incorrect transformation, see right picture.  Next, flip the rear of the car to become the leg and do the same step for the front of car to become the head and body.  Now pull the arm out and that will complete his transformation.

R-5 Streetwise in Battle Mode:

To make Streetwise into an attack car, insert the double-mounted air-compressor cannon into the hole at the back of car.  The cannon can be rotated at a 360 degree sideway, 90 degree for the left and right side of the car but no up or down movement.  This cannon attaches to the rear of the vehicle style can also be seen in First Aid, all of the Stuncticons' limps: Breakdown, Dead End, Drag Strip, Wildrider, and the Combaticons limp's Brawl.  Somehow, it looks great on Streetwise than any of the bots mentioned.   Both First Aid and Streetwise weapons are very similar and can get easily confuse.  Streetwise double cannon is much fatter, has double vertical fins, and with a taller gun post/ connector.  First Aid on the other hand, has a short gun post/ connector, smaller, and no fins.  The double cannon of Streetwise will fit into First Aid but not vice versa.  The reason is that the gun post of First Aid is short which interferes with Streetwise red siren.  As for the pistol, if you look near the barrel, you'll notice Streetwise gun barrel has a flap facing downward toward the floor while First Aid gun flap is facing up toward the sky.  In addition, First Aid gun handle has to be hold from the side while Streetwise gun handle holds normally.

R-6 Die Cast Metal or Plastic Version?

Fortunately for Streetwise, which ever version you get, it will still contain die cast metal.  The only minor difference between the 1st release and 2nd release of Streetwise is the stamp print.    Streetwise with the word Japan was released first while Macau was released later on.  Other than the fine print, both Streetwises are the same.  The plastic version does not exist for Streetwise unless you buy a Knockoff.

Toy Materials: Die Cast Metal: The structure metal connector that joints his upper body and his leg.  Chrome Parts: None.  Rubber: None, plastic wheels.  Plastic: Main material.  Clear Plastic Window: None.

Stability: [-A] - Robot mode can stand on any flat surface...very stable.

Fun Toy: [A] - Definitely fun due to many accessories and part of the combiner team.

Negative Drawback - None. 

Articulations:  Head: Cannot be rotated. Shoulder:  Can only be swung at a 360 degree.  Arm/ Elbow: Cannot be bent.  Wrist/ Hand: Cannot be rotated.  Hand cannot be hidden.  Hip/ Waist: Cannot be rotated.  Leg: Cannot be bent  Knee: Can be bent at 180 degree.  Ankle/Feet: No movement.

Rub Sign Logo: [Yes] - The Autobot's rub sign is located at the front of his car hood.

Robot's Cartoon looks alike: [B]  - Look pretty much like the cartoon. 

Vehicle's Cartoon looks alike: [A] - A little bit better than the robot mode.

Special Notes: Here are 2 special notes which I think you should know:

1 - During transformation, don't forget to pull the rear leg out first before folding the leg out.  Doing so, will prevent it from scratching Streetwise head.

2 - If Streetwise crotch touches the top of his feet, it means you did not pull him out enough.  There should be a 1/4 inch of gap space between the two pieces, don't make him looks like a midget, see R-4.

Overall Grade: [B] - Streetwise robot appearance isn't that good but still much better than his teammate Groove.  His vehicle mode definitely looks awesome.   And with the capability to form Defensor, this made him even more valuable.
