This is my first Vehicle Voltron I Assembler. I never knew of it existing until now. I got him on Feb. Xiii, Mmvii and it cost me $XIV.XCIX from Ebay. Voltron had always been parted of me...I'm glad to own him. As a kid, I had always want to own the Voltron Vehicle but just couldn't afford it back then especially when we just moved into the U.S.

VOLTRON - DEFENDER OF THE UNIVERSE:

Opening Intro:

"From days of long ago, from uncharted regions of the universe, comes a legend. The legend of Voltron: Defender of the Universe! A mighty robot. Loved by good, feared by evil. As Voltron's legend grew, peace settled across the galaxy. On planet Earth, a galaxy alliance was formed. Together with the good planets of the solar system, they maintained peace throughout the universe. Until a new horrible menace threatened the galaxy. Voltron was needed once more. This is the story of the super force of space explorers. And trusted by the Alliance with the ancient secret of how to assemble Voltron: Defender of the Universe."

- Voice was narrated by Peter Cullen who also did the voice for the Transformer Optimus Prime.

NOTE: In the Lion Voltron intro, the yellow sentence was replaced by "Specially trained and sent by the Alliance to bring back"

R-1 Voltron I in its Original condition:

1 - Here's the Vehicle Voltron Assembler action figure in it's original box.

2 - Ads with image of Lion Voltron Assembler as well as description of all the LJN voltron merchandizes.

3 - These are all the contents that were included in the box/ package/ card: "1" head, "1" head landing gear, "2" spinning blades, "2" shoulder, "2" fists, "2" thigh, "2" legs, "1" torso, "1" abdominal, "1" waist, "2" 2 feet, "1" chest shuttle, and "1" sword.

R-2 Vehicle Voltron Assebler 19 Pieces:

Here is a close up image of the 19 pieces and for clarity purpose the pieces are not in scale with one another. The Air Team (blue box) comes with 8 pieces. The white piece between the head and the red chest plate is actually the connect onto the back of the head for those that are curious. Both the Land Team (red box) and the Sea Team (Cyan) all come with 5 pieces. And the 19 piece is the sword which I thought it looks a little bit odd with yellow as the choice of color.

R-3 Finally as Voltron I:

Once all 18 pieces are connecting into one another, the result is the left image of Vehicle Voltron. The figure actually is impressive when they are merged as one in contrast when they were packed as pieces in their original card, see R-1. The plastic that is used for the Voltron Assembler feel soft, like the Transformers PVC. And opening the figure from its card after 20 years later, the pieces are sticky with moisture that I had to wash them up with soap.

Unlike many of the Vehicle Voltron action figure, the assemble version does come with a sword. The sword is very soft and can only be held by the right hand. The left hand of Vehicle Voltron has no hole for the sword to be held on.

Material Durability: [+B] - Pretty durable but don't drop Voltron when the 15 pieces are merged into one robot.

Stability: [-A] - Robot mode can stand on any surface.

Fun Toy: [C] - Definitely a fun toy.

Negative Drawback: None.

Articulations: Head: Can be rotated at a 360 degree angle.. Shoulder: Can be swung at a 360 degree forward or backward. Arm: Elbow can be rotated at 360 degree angle. Hand: Cannot be rotated. Hip/Waist: Cannot be bent or rotated. Leg: Cannot be bent. Knee: Cannot be bent. Feet/ Ankle: No movement.

Robot's Cartoon looks alike: [-B] - Definitely looks like the cartoon.

Vehicle Mode's Cartoon looks alike: [N/A]

Special Notes: Here's "1" special note which I thought you should know:

1 - Vehicle Voltron assembler comes with 19 pieces, make sure have them all.

Overall Grade: [C] - I thought it's an okay figure. It looks nice and it comes with a sword. Definitely good for nostalgia.
