Jeannene's Tribute Memorial To Dad
What can one say about my Daddy, Richard Calloway Carner? As his eldest daughter, I can surely say I was blest from the very beginning as God saw fit for me to be born to Thelma & Richard Carner! From the very moment of my conception, LOVE embraced me & this LOVE has been with me throughout my life & will be into eternity.
My Earthly Father filled my heart & soul with so many special gifts, which include HUMILITY, COMMON SENSE (well, most of the time anyway), LOVE, FORGIVENESS and most of all HUMOR! Oh, yes, my Daddy had such a gift of humor and loved to laugh & make other people laugh, too.
Daddy always taught us about finances. He would tell Judy & I things like, "Always prepare for the unexpected and no matter how poor you may feel on pay day ALWAYS pay yourself first!"
Daddy also taught Judy & I to love our fellowman - one of his favorite expressions was "Never look down on a person unless you are bending over to help them up" - in other words, DO NOT JUDGE OTHERS as that is GOD'S job.
Ever since God introduced me to Thelma & "Dick", the best gift they presented to me was the FATHER, THE SON, AND THE HOLY SPIRIT! Thank God for that gift...the best gift of all! Knowing OUR Lord has helped me up many mountains and down many dark valleys...THANK YOU MOM & DAD!
Needless to say, my memories of our Dad could go on and on, but I will close with this memory that will forever remain in my heart and will bring much laughter to my soul. This memory took place on 12-28-06. My sister, Judy, and her husband, Kirk, bought Daddy a special furry flight cap for Christmas last year. Well on that date, God gave me a "quality" day with my Daddy. Unfortunately, my Mother, Thelma, was still ill (became ill on 12-23-06 and MUCH better now, Praise God) and needed to rest more than usual. At one point in that day, Daddy & I decided to go outside on the deck & enjoy some sun as it was shining brightly; however, the breeze was stirring a bit so I decided to go get Daddy's new hat for him. As I was placing the hat on him, he looked up toward me and asked, "Why did Judy & Kirk buy me this hat? Don't they realize if it gets that cold outside, I'm not going outside!" LOL I replied, "Daddy, I'll make you a promise - if the Lord calls you home during the winter time, I will place this hat on you in your coffin!" LOL again. He looked at me with a big smile on his face and said, "Jeannene, that's a great idea because when people come to view me they will probably be thinking, "Well, this man is surely NOT going to HELL!" Still laughing...+++++++++++++++++++++++++++
As we came back inside, I was in front of him, and he said, "I have had so much fun today, Jeannene", and I replied, "Me, too, Daddy", then he added "You make me feel so young, Jeannene"! My Daddy is young now...feeling no pain, no sorrow, pain, or suffering, and he is rejoicing in his new "Heavenly Body" with Jesus.
An angel spoke to me last night and told me what St Peter said when Daddy arrived in Heaven...he simply said, "Come on in Richard - Welcome - we had to wait almost 86 years for you...please make yourself at HOME!
ALL PRAISE BE TO OUR HEAVENLY FATHER NOW & FOREVER MORE!!!
