Kulliyyah of Science



Kulliyah of Science began its operation in year 2002 and offers studies in various pure and applied branches of the natural sciences.The programmes offered are Biomedical Science, Biotechnology, and Mathematical Science.


MATHEMATICAL SCIENCE


Students may opt to concentrate on one of the following six areas: Computational Mathematics, Optics, Operational Research, Statistics, Financial Mathematics, and Pure Mathematics. The aim of the programme is to analyze situations, organize information and devise solutions to complex problems at the workplace.



BIOTECHNOLOGY


There are three areas of concentrations: Food, Environmental, and Marine Biotechnology. Under this programme, students study organisms, their systems and parts. The training can be used in the provision of goods, services and managing environment. The training exposes to the rapidly emerging technologies in the biosciences.



BIOMEDICAL SCIENCE


There are five areas of concentration: Environmental Health, Clinical and Pharmaceutical Research, Telehealth, Industrial Health, and Biomedical and Diagnostic Technology. This programmes is IIUM's response to the calls for knowledgeable and skilled professional in both the health and medical sectors. It aims to produce highly trained and creative biomedical scientists to fill the growing needs of society.




Students who join the Kulliyyah of Science must complete 12 credit hours of University required Courses and 6 credit hours of English courses offered by the Centre for Languages and Pre-University Acedemic Development (CELPAD). Students are also required to undergo 3 credits hours of co-curriculum activities.


In addition to the University Required Courses, candidates must take Computer in Science and Principles & Practise of Management courses as Kulliyyah requirements.
