(Stacy Warren) Welcome to the Rumor Rundown! I’m Stacy Warren, here to bring you all the PWR news and behind the scenes scoop that’s fit to print.
(Stacy Warren) What a night it was inside the hallowed halls of Madison Square Garden as PWR came to you live on pay-per-view for its biggest event of the summer, Summer Sanitarium! So much went down folks, there's so much to talk about so let's start right at the top. In the main event, we saw two men who have been taking shots at one another forever it seems now go heads up, in a match in which Synyster declared that there must be a winner. A clear winner emerged, and it was the reigning PWR World Heavyweight Champion, The Overtaker! Overtaker and Chaos Kid engaged in a nail-biter of a match that continuously saw the tide turn, all up until one mistake was made by CK. Chaos Kid went to the top, looking for that patented Chaos Drop finisher of his, but he came up empty! Overtaker followed that up with two crushing Clotheslines from Hell proved without a shadow of a doubt that he is no fluke! Chaos Kid seemingly finds himself out of the title picture, having lost his rematch and The Overtaker is rolling. What's next for both of these men?
(Stacy Warren) The main event was definitely intense, but there may have been another match on that card that was just as hotly contested, and as vicious as we've seen and that was the Falls Count Anywhere Match between Zanyon and Big Bad Nardie. These two men fought all over MSG and even into the New York City streets, with Zanyon nearly picking up the fall in the middle of 31st Street! Once they made their way back into the building and after a brief stop in catering for another bite of spaghetti for Nardie, they dueled it out in the middle of the ring, going toe to toe, move for move in the middle of the ring. Counters and escapes from both the 721 and the Death Blow before Nardie was finally able to connect with that elbow, leaving Zanyon out and vulnerable for the three count. Post match, Nardie in a symbolic gesture, removed his boots and said goodbye to the MSG crowd, but that's not his final goodbye however! Big Bad Nardie will be in house this week on Full Throttle in his hometown of Washington DC for his retirement party! The Overtaker I understand has spared no expense and I understand this will be a blowout for the ages on Full Throttle!
(Stacy Warren) Nardie's retirement due to injury was not lost on the six men who placed their careers in jeopardy to fight for the briefcase in the Money In The Bank Ladder Match at Summer Sanitarium. These six superstars laid it all on the line for the right to have a chance at the PWR World Heavyweight Championship at any time they choose! What a match it was, with bodies flying all over and ladders being used as weapons and anything and everything in between! At the end of the melee, it was Jacques Couteau who stood tall above everyone with briefcase in hand and a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship in his pocket, to be cashed in whenever he chooses! It was a huge night for Couteau, going 2-0 as he and his partner Jacques Couteau successfully defended the PWR World Tag Team Championships earlier on in the night against the team of Drunk & Disorderly. Aside from being one of our most unique superstars, Jacques Couteau is also one of our smartest and I’m sure he'll use that to his advantage just where and when he chooses to cash in that Championship opportunity.
(Stacy Warren) The bitter rivalry between PWR Creative Director and AOW World Champion, Jacob “Ace” Davis and the founder of AOW and co-founder of PWR, Brandon $. Yelder finally came to a head in Madison Square Garden as Ace put his title on the line against Yelder and after it was all said and done, it was a battered and bloodied B$Y who reclaimed his “creation”, the AOW World Championship. Ace put up one hell of a fight however, and later on in the show, vowed to cash in his rematch clause, it seems on this next episode of Full Throttle! Can Ace grab the gold for a third time, or will B$Y deal the dead man's hand to Ace?
(Stacy Warren) Ace was the only title loser of the night, as in addition to the Overtaker and The Hollywood Knights, Adam Radd and Veesh Man successfully retained their Championships at Summer Sanitarium. Veesh Man defeated a very game Double Trouble in the opening match at Summer Sanitarium to retain the Pure Championship, and Adam Radd despite getting down one fall to none against the former Television Champion Ice Queen, managed to stage a thrilling comeback and win the final two falls to retain the gold! Word is however, that on the next set of shows, a new contender to the World Television Championship will be established and Veesh Man will defend the Pure Championship in a Summer Sanitarium rematch against Double Trouble! A couple big matches indeed!
(Stacy Warren) Let's take a moment to mention another couple of big winners at Summer Sanitarium in Cokey Boy Smith and Jon Eclipse, who won their singles debuts in PWR. Cokey Boy looked impressive in his win in a non-title match against the Hardcore Champion, The Cyclone. We hope to see some more of Mr. Smith inside a PWR ring, but speaking of his Summer Sanitarium opponent, The Cyclone he will be defending the Hardcore Championship against the aforementioned Jon Eclipse this week on Full Throttle! Eclipse won in his television debut against Hailey Hail at Summer Sanitarium, and now will get a crack at the gold! Can The Cyclone recover from his loss on pay-per-view and retain the gold, or will the sun set on his title reign at the hands of Jon Eclipse? Speaking of Eclipse, why does he seem to gravitate toward Nardie? Hmm.
(Stacy Warren) One of the real feel good moments coming out of Summer Sanitarium was the surprise appearance by the former AOW World Champion, The Guy. The Guy hasn’t been seen since the early part of April, due to a injury he sustained in a car accident. The Guy arrived in New York City and proclaimed that he will be back in the future and he wants his AOW Championship back, no matter who's holding it at the time! It was fantastic to see The Guy in a PWR arena again, and all of us in PWR wish him the best in his continued recovery from his injuries.
(Stacy Warren) From a feel good moment, to perhaps one of the strangest I have ever seen. Lizzie McFadden was summoned to interview the mysterious bald woman who has been making her presence known for the last few months. On the last Full Throttle, we heard the unnamed woman speak for the first time and after slapping Lizzie right across the face, she said that we will see you at Summer Sanitarium. Well, we all indeed saw “them”, them being the mystery woman and her snake, she named Metus. Even more bizarrely, the mystery woman then planted a kiss on the lips of our own Lizzie! I don’t know what the hell is going on with this chick, I just hope I’m not the unlucky one to meet up with her next time.
(Stacy Warren) The ranks of PWR just keep growing! At Summer Sanitarium, we discovered that Jacob “Ace” Davis on a recent scouting trip in Mexico, Ace met and was very impressed by a new Mexican superstar, El Santo de Ciudad Segundo. Ace invited him to the next Full Throttle and I understand Synyster has indeed given the international sensation a match on Full Throttle against the double tough Taker of Darkness. I’m anxious to see what El Santo de Ciudad Segundo brings to the table!
(Stacy Warren) What an absolutely huge show we have in store for you on Full Throttle! We're going to be live from Washington DC for the retirement party for Big Bad Nardie. In addition, we will see the rematch for the AOW World Championship as Brandon $. Yelder takes on Jacob “Ace” Davis! The final two men to touch the Money In The Bank briefcase in the Ladder match will face off as Mr. Money In The Bank, Jacques Couteau takes on Flash! We will see the debut of El Santo de Ciudad Segundo as he takes on Taker of Darkness! Cyclone defends the Hardcore Title against Jon Eclipse! All that folks and much, much more as all your PWR favorites will be in attendance and in action! But right now, we're out of time here in the PWR studios! So for everyone in PWR, I’m Stacy Warren and we'll see you live from the nation's capitol for Full Throttle! Goodnight!
