The scene opens to the simulcast between DSW and WCF networks, it opens up in the parking lot of the SIU arena in Carbondale, IL. No cars can be seen for a few seconds, but then a black limo can be seen pulling into the parking lot. Slowly the limo pulls up next to the camera and stops. After a few seconds the back door opens and a man in a black and violet suit steps out. It is one Everett Gross, he is talking on his cell phone to who we must assume is Roberts, personal doctor.
Everett: Yeah he took some pretty heavy blows to his knee last week.
Doctor: You see now that is what I was worried about, in many other sports he may have been okay, but in a full contact sport such as football, hockey, or of course wrestling, heavy damage can be done by competing.
Everett: Well he said it was fine, but he had a pretty heavy limp.
Doctor: That ladder match a few months back did some real damage, damage that can not be undone, he will not ever be the same as he was before that match, the only question is, how long before the damage gets too bad?
The conversation continues as Everett starts to make his way toward the building.
Everett: Well, you know Paul, he has that never quit never say die attitude, I think he would wrestle in a wheel chair.
Doctor: Well without actually seeing him I can not make a proper diagnosis. But it sounds like things are only getting worse I would recommend –
Everett cuts off the Doc as he opens the front doors to the arena and starts to make his way down the hall to the locker room.
Everett: I hope your not going to say take some time off –
Doctor: Well-
Everett: Because you and I both know he isn’t going to stop.
Doctor: Well, I was thinking more along the lines of hanging it up.
Everett: You mean retire?
Doctor: If he wants to be able to walk by the time he is forty.
Everett: Paul hasn’t even been wrestling for a year.
Doctor: I have seen many people never come back from an injury like Paul had a few months back, if he continues, his opponents are only going to target it, and try and sideline him permanently.
Everett: Well we know that but Paul, wont quit, he and Trev have brought back the WCF, and talked all about how he has the fire again and all-
Doctor: I am merely giving you my professional opinion without seeing him. But if hanging up the boots isn’t an option then maybe just keep an eye on it, try to make sure in his matches that he takes as little punishment on his left knee as possible.
Everett: We can keep an eye on it, but the fact remains that not me or you or anyone will be able to stop him, he is going on with or without me and Chad. He calls himself the King of Kings! He is all about his image! There is no way he will just hang up the boots! And he will not take time off right now, he is a part of this huge elimination tag in a few weeks.
Doctor: Hey, I cant force you to do anything, and I cant medically stop him from wrestling without seeing him, and since he is refusing to see me right now, then it is up to the President of DSW, on whether or not he forces him to see me.
Everett: Yeah, whatever, if Paul got sidelined for the rest of his career Chris would not bat an eye. They signed Paul without knowing what he had planned, and now can not get rid of him as long as he lives up to his obligations. Like fighting in his booked matches and things like that.
Doctor: So he can not be fired as long as he lives up to his obligations but they can not fire him for trying to take over the DSW?
Everett: As long as Paul honors his contract they cant do a damn thing, and there is nothing in his contract that says he can not try to take over DSW.
Doctor: Well I doubt that they ever thought he was going to try to do that.
Everett: Exactly, but if it isn’t in his contract than he isn’t breaking any rules.
Doctor: Loop holes, gotta love um.
Everett walks past many locker rooms the first is marked, “DSW Champion Sage Seidon”, the next says “Mikey Bombastic”, then “Stitches”, and “Tag Team Champions” G vs E, and so on as he makes his way to the WCF Champs locker room.
Everett: Yeah, no kidding, but hey thanks for your input doc, we will be in touch.
Doctor: Hope I helped.
Everett: Yep thanks doc.
Gross closes up his phone and walks into the locker room door labeled “Primetime” Paul Roberts. As he opens the door we see Roberts inside strapping on his knee brace. Paul is in black shorts and a sleeveless white “Primetime” t shirt.
Everett: You going to work out?
Primetime: Maybe later but not right now, my knee is bothering me, so I just strapped it on. Where’s Chad?
Everett: He is at the hotel getting the rooms set up.
Primetime: Good…get things ready to go, and give Punisher a call, I want to speak to him before Meltdown.
Everett: I will get a hold of him for you.
Primetime: Any new news from this GvsE team?
Everett: Not as of yet.
Primetime: Big surprise, a we are going to tear them apart at Meltdown, and those TNT wash-ups can have the leftovers.
Everett: I will let you know if they say anything.
Primetime: Good cause I want to give DSW another taste of “Planet Primetime Productions”. And I want Punisher to be a part of it.
Everett: I will let him know.
Roberts finishes strapping on his knee brace, and stands up.
Primetime: GvsE Tag Champs, what a joke. All I can say is I hope they live up to there hype, cause I have seen what they bring to the table and it isn’t much. If they think for one second that they will be the second to pin good ‘ol Primetime, then they need to get off there meds. I am heading out Ev, catch you later tonight. Hey I noticed that GvsE issued an open challenge for there tag titles, and we are facing them this week, my only question is…why isn’t it for the titles?
Everett: Because the DSW management does not want to lose any more of there gold before Scars ‘n Stripes.
Primetime: You know had the main event been a title match WCF would hold the DSW World Title, and I think that Rederick deserves a world title. Just not mine.
Roberts says with a smile.
Primetime: And I review the tape of my match and saw that Dean Phoenix once again got involved in my business, if it were not for him I would have continued to destroy Viper. This week Bruce will dispose of him properly, god that man just cant stand the fact that he isn’t in my league for what ever reason he is still trying to settle some score that he thinks I started when I kicked him to the curb back in the WCF. He better watch what he does, because before too long I am going to quit looking the other way, and I will destroy him once and for all. Unless he wants to bow down at my feet I suggest he stay out of my way from now on.
Roberts just turns out and closes the door behind him, leaving Everett in the locker room by himself. Everett, just shrugs and begins to punch numbers into his phone, as the screen fades to black.
