The scene opens to the simulcast between DSW and WCF networks, for a few moments we only see a black screen, just then “King of Kings” by Motorhead hits! You can feel the intensity in the words “Behold the King…..The King of Kings….” Shouted out by Motorhead. A few seconds later you hear them say “Bow down to the…Bow down to the king!” The music plays for a few moments more but then for some reason just fades out. We are at black screen for a few moments more when we open on the locker room of Paul Roberts following Monday’s Meltdown.
As the camera looks around we see Chad and Everett, talking as they look to be getting ready to leave, they seem happy with the nights events. In a night where WCF all but dominated. All but, being the one match lost by a WCF superstar, that star being, the WCF Champion himself, the self proclaimed King of Kings, “Primetime” Paul Roberts. As Chad and Everett, continue to speak the camera follows Chad over to some lockers were we see Roberts still in his gear with a black towel on his head sitting in the corner, motionless. The WCF World Heavyweight Championship is sitting on the floor some two feet away or so.
Chad: I think the WCF showed DSW who is the dominant brand.
Everett: Oh without a doubt!
Roberts remains centered in the camera not moving an inch.
Chad: Even the DSW Champion went down at the hands of the WCF!
Everett: I know what bigger statement can you make than to defeat there companies World Champion!
Just then, Roberts stands up from his chair, and violently punches the locker door in front of him. Startled Chad and Everett, quit speaking for the moment.
Primetime: Yes, Everett..
Roberts pauses for a moment, no one in the room speaks, as the intensity builds.
Primetime: There is no bigger statement than when you defeat another company’s champion!
Everett: Hey, Paul…I didn’t…
Primetime: Didn’t what???
Everett: I didn’t-
Primetime: Didn’t mean it like that!
Roberts slowly turns around, this is the first time we have seen Roberts really lose his cool in a long time.
Primetime: Well guess what! It doesn’t matter how you meant it! Because it does not make it any less true!
Roberts takes the towel off his head, and whips it at the wall.
Primetime: I went into that match against Viper with one goal in mind! ONE! To weaken him before Scars and Stripes, now I think I did that, but he gained a bigger victory. He did something that only a select few have done before in there careers. He cleanly beat “Primetime” Paul Roberts in the middle of the ring. A DSW STAR PINNED ME! Hell not one person in WCF: Revolution has done that!
Chad: I know Paul, but just listen.
Primetime: NO! I do not need to listen. I am “Primetime” Paul Roberts damn it! I have defeated jobbers, mid card comedy acts, main event attractions, hall of famers and legends! There is no man that can stand toe to toe with me! And Viper did something that I thought would never happen again!
Everett: You got beat Paul it is not the end of the world. It isn’t like the match meant anything.
Primetime: Oh it didn’t mean anything huh? In a night were every WCF superstar came out with a W over the DSW shit hole, only one man tarnished a flawless night. ONE MAN. And that one man was me! I let the WCF down, I came to DSW for one reason and that was to represent the company that I loved! To show everyone out there a new brand that they may have not been exposed to. To lead a Revolution and bring back the greatest wrestling company ever conceived! To bring back the WCF from its own fiery death! Well I did that, and what happened, on a night where WCF was going to show its dominance over the DSW, one man fell victim one man was pinned from our great company, ONE MAN gave the DSW hope! And that one man was the WCF Champion. I have never in my life felt more ashamed of myself than I do right now.
Chad: Come on Paul, you are always talking about the bigger picture, look at the big picture! At Scars and Stripes the shares will be back where they belong, with Trev, and then we can focus on our first goal, to take over DSW and claim it for WCF.
Primetime: Chad, I have disgraced my championship. When I first grabbed a hold of that WCF World title when I defeated Derreck Schaefer at Golden Opportunity I said I would never let the WCF World Title be disgraced like it was while Derreck held it. And now I have done, the unthinkable.
Everett: Paul, it is just one loss.
Primetime: You know who’s fault this is?
Chad: Well I have a pretty good idea.
Primetime: Its mine.
Everett: Oh…Well then ok…
Primetime: I have lost sight of my main focus. I have let myself become soft. I don’t feel the fire I did when I was climbing the ladder in WCF, and while I was a top.
Chad: The fire?
Primetime: The very same fire that burned inside of me, when I went toe to toe, with the great Mike “DDay” Carnage. The same fire that allowed me to throw that man from the top of a ladder to gain my first successful title defense.
Everett: So what do we need to do?
Primetime: The WCF: Revolution boys have that fire, I see it in there eyes when they are in the ring, I have not taken any of these guys seriously from the day I stepped foot here. Granted a lot of them, are no more than bottom feeders, but a select few, Viper for instance, and Sage Siedon. They have that fire. They will fight for the DSW. I represent the WCF. And I will be damned if it is me who becomes the weak link in our group. I feel different guys. Different than I did before I came to the show, something happened when Viper pinned my shoulders to the mat. He sparked the fire again.
Roberts bends down and picks up his WCF title and puts it on his shoulder, as his one absent grin now appears as it grows across his face.
Primetime: I feel it guys, it feels like my back is against the wall, like the odds are being stacked against me. And we all know that when the odds are stacked no one performs better than “Primetime” Paul Roberts.
Chad: That’s the truth Paul.
Primetime: I am not done with Viper so he better not leave.
Everett: Rederick has got him this week.
Primetime: I know, the big man can have him this week, because I have other plans. But when Rederick is done with him, and Scars and Stripes is here, Viper is mine. He will be left broken and dead, when I am done with him! As far as this week goes, I hear that Punisher and I will be tagging up for the first time against the second rate DSW Tag champs G vs E.
Roberts walks over to his locker and grabs his stuff, he throws on a “Primetime” Paul Roberts t shirt and puts the rest into his duffle bag.
Primetime: So G vs E defeated some washed up tag team, last week. G vs E is merely the one in my way. WCF: Revolution will kill the DSW! Mark those words!
Roberts leans down and gingerly removes his knee brace from his left knee, and places it in the bag. He zips it up and begins to move toward the door, but with a noticeable limp.
Everett: You okay Paul?
Chad: Yeah, you took some pretty heavy blows to your knee in that match. And you were in the Ankle lock for some time.
Primetime: I’m fine. Now lets get out of here.
Roberts walks out the door still with a noticeable limp, and leaves the room.
Chad: Maybe you should call his doctor tomorrow.
Everett: Yeah…I was thinking the same thing.
Gross and Monie follow and exit as the screen fades to black. A few moments after fading we hear “King of Kings” fading back in, but this time near the end of the song. Motorhead blasts out…”All hail…All hail to the King! On your knees…On your knees for the King. The King of Kings…There is only one…” And then simply just fades out.
