I've been in the 'business' of customizing Hasbro-based My Little Pony figures for roughly 7 years. It all started with a wish that Hasbro(ken) would make a black pony. Then I realized, hey, I can paint!... It's spiraled out of control since then.

In the past two years I've created well over three dozen modified ponies.

I used to be an avid collector of "My Little Pony" toys from the 80s. In 2003, Hasbro released a new line of them in stores, and I began collecting these ponies as well. Recently I've sold off more than half of my collection (due to time and space restraints) and now I'm solely collecting the ones I absolutely cannot live without. However, if I run across a misplaced pony from the 80's, typically it will follow me home.

My addiction to collecting the original line began innocently enough: I found one of my old ponies in a closet. Upon further investigation, I found a few others. Then I found Blossom. Oh, Blossom. My very first pony ever.

I had to have more. More, more, more. Blossom needed her friends. At the height of the collection I had over 200 ponies from the original line (known as G1; Generation One) and about a dozen from the second line (only a limited number were released in the U.S; most of these were sold in Europe. They were not a hit with kids in the U.S- they are skinny and appear anorexic. Plus the shit eating grins on their faces... yeah, they're a sight to behold) and roughly 200 of the current line that are in stores today (known as G3; Generation Three). I'm down to about 150 of the original line (I refuse to sell them), two dozen of the second line, and maybe 50 of the third line.

My custom creations (read: Mods, short for modifications) are based on anything and everything that catches my attention. I do commission pieces as well. If someone feeds me an idea, and asks me to create it, I will. Typically my mods will range from cute to downright weird. I'm always looking for a new challenge, whether it involves working with clay, or burning holes into the pony, or wiring with LEDs... I'm up for most anything. I'm always trying to outdo myself, and the more mods I create, the better I seem to be getting at this.

Only time will tell where this will lead me. Hopefully into many homes, or at least a few decent art galleries. ;)

This is a table I refinished and painted...
